Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, is an American rapper born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He is known for his collaborations with Struggle Jennings, Haystak, and Lil Wyte, Ryan Upchurch, and Tech N9ne. His collaboration with Lil Wyte for “Pop Another Pill” reached more than 1 million views on YouTube.

Jelly Roll's "Dead Man Walking" peaked at No. 1 on rock radio on May 9, 2022. Jelly Roll and David Ray Stevens' co-written country debut single "Son of a Sinner" topped the charts in the United States in January 2023. This song debuted at #8 on the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs list and was the second single from the album Ballads of the Broken in 2021. His 25th week at the top of Billboard's Emerging Artists chart in February 2023 set a new record.

With support from Chris Young, Sam Hunt, Riley Green, Shinedown, Ernest, Struggle Jennings, Tech N9ne, and Krizz Kaliko, Jelly Roll performed to a sold-out crowd of 15,000 at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on December 9, 2022. A 44-city "Backroad Baptism Tour" will begin in the summer of 2023.
