John Roger Stephens (December 28, 1978) is an American actor, singer, pianist, songwriter, and record producer. He is professionally known by his stage name, John Legend born in Springfield, Ohio. Legend started making his music after working as a management consultant for the BCG and graduating from Penn. His self-titled demo was released in 2000; then, in 2001, he released Live at Jimmy's Uptown, both of which he sold at live performances. After that, he worked on his demo and sent it out to other record labels.
