Kehlani Ashley Parrish (April 24, 1995), also known as Kehlani, is an American singer and songwriter. They first became famous in 2011 when they were members of the teen pop group PopLyfe. They were originally from Oakland, California. Complex named Cloud 19, Kehlani's debut mixtape, one of the "50 Best Albums of 2014."

With a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and a Best Urban Contemporary Album nomination at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, You Should Be Here (2015) entered the Billboard 200. For the 2023 WNBA and MLS All-Star Games, Kehlani was the featured performer. The lead single, "After Hours," which Kehlani released on April 4, 2024, was the first single from their upcoming album.

With the "Next 2 U" music video, the film referenced the 1987 uprising against Israel's presence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It began with a poem written by Palestinian-American writer Hala Alyan. In the song video's outro, Kehlani paid tribute to the Palestinian youngsters murdered in the Gaza-Israel conflict with a personally penned statement.
