Lainey Wilson (May 19, 1992) is an American country music singer and songwriter. She was born in Baskin, Louisiana. She first experienced the music of the Grand Ole Opry when she was nine. She remembers thinking, "Man, I wanna do that" as she gazed upwards. Wilson's dad taught her a few chords, and she began penning tunes as a preteen. Her EP, named Country Girls Rule, was released on Myspace in 2006.

When Jason Aldean went on his "Back in the Saddle Tour" that same year, he brought Wilson along as an opening act. Wilson and Cole Swindell worked together on a record called "Never Say Never" in 2021. Swindell's fourth studio album, Stereotype, featured the duet, and it became Wilson's second number-one country song. The album Bell Bottom Country came out in 2022, followed by a single named "Heart Like a Truck" by the singer-songwriter in 2022.

At the 56th Annual CMA Awards, Wilson was the leading nominee with six nods and only the fourth artist to garner six or more nominations as a first-time contender. As of 2022, Wilson was also a member of the Yellowstone cast, and the show regularly featured several of her songs. Her 2023 collaboration with country singer MacKenzie Porter on the song "Chasing Tornadoes" was released as a single.
