Maoli was founded in Maui by Glenn Awong, a 14-year-old with a penchant for music. An instructor inspired the ambitious singer/guitarist to start writing his music during his sophomore year of high school. Additionally, it was during this time that Glenn began making audio demos of his compositions. When Glenn was a senior in high school, he felt confident enough in his musical abilities to start performing for larger crowds.

They began in 2007 and gained recognition for their distinctive blend of reggae and island sounds. Their first album, Maoli (2010), was a hit. It helped the band build a strong following with its smooth tunes and heartfelt lyrics. Over the years, Maoli has collaborated with prominent reggae artists and performed at numerous popular festivals. Songs like “Nothing to Hide” have earned them fans all over the world. Their music is all about love, life, and the Hawaiian spirit.

In 2025, they released a new album titled "Last Sip of Summer. "The band worked with producers Dann and David Huff to mix reggae with country and Hawaiian sounds. The album includes fun songs like “Damn Good Night” and “In a Bar.” Maoli is out on the road, bringing their fresh sound to fans all over. Whether it’s through new songs or their classic reggae hits, they keep spreading those good vibes wherever they go.
