About Slipknot

Slipknot is an American heavy metal band started in 1995 by Shawn Crahan on drums, Anders Colsefni on bass, and Colsefni on vocals. Initially, they went through a few lineup changes but eventually settled on nine members to last for almost ten years. When the band's self-titled debut album came out in 1999, they shot to stardom.  Despite its darker tone, Iowa, the band's 2001 follow-up album, was more successful. Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) was Slipknot's 2004 comeback album following a short sabbatical; the band had yet another break before releasing 2008's All Hope Is Gone, their fourth studio album, which topped the US Billboard 200 album chart upon its release. On September 30, 2022, they released their seventh studio album, The End, So Far.  The band's discography includes five live DVDs, a compilation CD called Antennas to Hell, two live albums called 9.0: Live and Day of the Gusano: Live in Mexico, and more. Thirty million recordings have been sold globally, including over twelve million in their nation. In April of 2024, Slipknot started hinting at celebrations for the silver anniversary of their self-titled debut album.
