Calvin Cordozar Broadust Jr. (October 20, 1971) is an American actor and rapper. He is professionally known by his stage name, Snoop Dog, and was born in Long Beach, California. Long Beach has been featured prominently in Snoop Songs and is located 22 miles south of Los Angeles. The prominent producer Dr. Dre heard one of Snoop's early solo freestyles over En Vogue's "Hold On" on a mixtape that happened to make its way to him, and he was so impressed that he invited Snoop to audition for Death Row Records (then known as Future Shock) in 1991.

Snoop delayed his tour for the I Wanna Thank You album and documentary until early 2020. The new starting date for the trip is February 2021. Snoop dropped the collaborative single "Que Maldicion" with Banda Sinaloense de Sergio Lizarraga in May of 2020, and it quickly rose to the top of the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100.

In 2022, Snoop Dogg released BODR, his 19th studio album, after he had purchased Death Row Records from MNRK Music Group (previously known as eOne Music). The live-action/animated music video for Snoop Dogg and Eminem's collaboration "From the D 2 the LBC" was released on June 24, 2022. Broadus was honored with the BMI Icon Award that year. He entered the Songwriters Hall of Fame that same year (2023).
