The Chicks (previously known as Dixie Chicks) are an American country music band composed of lead singer Natalie Maines and multi-instrumentalists/vocalist Martie Maguire (née Erwin) and Emily Strayer. Since its formation in 1989, Dixie Chicks continued to struggle hard, leading the band to rise high in the music world. Dixie Chicks encompasses a distinctive trio from Dallas and Texas.

The Chicks achieved commercial success, beginning in 1998 with the hit songs “There’s Your Trouble” and “Wide Open Spaces. The band came out with an innovative blend of folk, bluegrass, and country music. Dixie Chicks has fascinated its fan base by using demonstrative instruments such as fiddles, banjos, and mandolins. The use of the instruments, as mentioned earlier, leads to the recording of record-setting hits like “Ready to Run,” “Travelin Soldier,” and “Goodbye Earl.” In 2020, they dropped “Dixie” from their name and released their first album in 14 years, Gaslighter. Gaslighter is the eighth studio album by the band. It was released on July 17, 2020, by Columbia Records and produced by Jack Anton off and The Chicks. On the U.S. billboard 200, Gaslighter debuted at number 3 with 84,000 album-equivalent units.

The Chicks have won 13 Grammy Awards, including five in 2007 for Taking the Long Way, which received the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and its single “Not Ready to Make Nice,” which received the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and the Grammy Award for Song of the Year. By July 2020, with 33 million certified albums sold and 27.9 million albums in the U.S. alone, they had become the best-selling female band and best-selling country group in the U.S.

They are the only female group to earn multiple RIAA diamond awards. The trio is heading back out on the road this summer for the first time under The Chicks, with tour dates below. The country band has scheduled a tour spanning 27 cities in North America in support of their 2020 album Gaslighter, the band’s first in 14 years. The Chicks Tour will begin on June 14, 2022, and ends on Aug (2022). Jenny Lewis and Patty Griffin will join for select tour dates.
