The Killers are a well-known rock band from Las Vegas. It was established in 2001 by lead singer Brandon Flowers (also playing keyboards and bass) and lead guitarist Dave Keuning (also singing in the band). After many short-term bassists and drummers, Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (drums, percussion) and Mark Stoermer (bass, rhythm guitar, backing vocals) joined the band in 2002.

A logo on the bass drum of a made-up band, seen in the video for New Order's song "Crystal," inspired the band's moniker.

Seven of The Killers' studio albums have peaked at No.1 on the UK Albums Chart, including Pressure Machine (2021) and Imploding the Mirage (2020). Sawdust (2007), a collection of their B-sides and rarities, Live from the Royal Albert Hall (2009), their most extraordinary hits collection Direct Hits (2013), and a Christmas CD, Don't Waste Your Wishes (2016), have also been published.

The band premiered their next track, "Boy," at Madrid's Mad Cool Festival on July 8, 2022. Written during the recordings for Pressure Machine, the song ultimately didn't cut. In an interview with NME, Flowers said they are working on their new album and promised to release further singles throughout 2022 and into early 2023.
