The Lumineers is an American alternative folk band. The group's current lineup consists of Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites. Their debut album hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 upon its initial release in 2012. Its awards are triple platinum in the United States and Canada, platinum in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and gold in Australia. In 2016, they released their second studio album, Cleopatra, which immediately went to the top of the Billboard 200 and Canadian and British album charts.

They released the title track from their upcoming fourth studio album Brightside as a single on September 20, 2021. The song's music video also premiered simultaneously. The music video for "Big Shot" premiered on October 13, 2021, and the single became available the next day. The release date for Brightside was January 14, 2022. On February 8, 2022, the band announced they would be touring North America for the Brightside World Tour 2022.

The Cure's "Just Like Heaven" was covered by the band in April, and it is included as a bonus track on their album "Brightside." The band lists various artists and musical genres as inspirations, including Bob Dylan, Beethoven, Guns N' Roses, Talking Heads, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, The Cars, Leonard Cohen, and "cinematic music and anything strange and weird."
