About Tove Lo

Tove Lo (October 29, 1987), known by her original name, Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson, is a Swedish songwriter and singer. She is famous due to her raw pop music. Lo was born in Stockholm, Sweden. She started her career by forming a girl band, and along with it, she wrote her first song. Lo was just 10 -11 years old at that time. To pursue her career in music, Lo joined the music school “Rytmus Musikrgymnasiet.” Lo began writing with Christian Bjerring in 2006. Later on, they both formed a math rock band together, along with three other males of their school named Tremblebee. For the initial three years, they released many independent songs and performed at the bars all across Sweden before breaking up in 2009. During the breakup time, Lo spent many days with the band and got a great passion to perform live on stage. After breaking up with the band, Lo shifted her musical interest towards pop. She learned drums and spent six months recording her demo track. Lo had a meet up with A&R man in Stockholm at a party and gave him the recorded demo. They again met in a bar in London by chance. The man liked her demo and introduced her to a songwriting group that included Hjelt and The Struts. Lo was constantly getting attracted to songwriting, and finally, she started pursuing her career in the same field. She got a publishing deal with Warner/Chappel Music. Some of her great albums are Queen of the Clouds as her first album (2014), Lady Wood (2016), Blue Lips (2017), and Sunshine Kitty (2019). She has won several awards, including Scandipop Awards, P3 Gold, YouTube Music Awards, Grammys, Rockbjörnen, European Border Breakers Award, Scandipop Awards, Capricho Awards, STIM, Scandipop Awards, and Melty Future Awards. She has also been nominated many times for the same awards in various years.
