Coach Dave Van Horn leads the University of Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team, which competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In 2024, the program is in its 102nd season of play, the 77th consecutive season it has played. 

Arkansas is one of just four colleges in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) to have turned a profit on its baseball program in recent years. The other three schools are Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and LSU, all of whom are competitors in the SEC Western division.

When the Razorbacks arrived in Omaha, they had a record of 44–19, were tied for first place in the SEC West with Ole Miss, and had previously triumphed in Baum Stadium, where they had won both the Fayetteville Regional and the Super Regional. With a record of 34–4 at Baum, the squad established a new school record for home wins.

The Arkansas Razorbacks started the season ranked among the top ten teams and remained in that position for the whole season. Before the Championship Series, Arkansas had already competed against four of the other seven teams in Omaha, as evidenced by their record of 4–5 against those teams. The Arkansas Razorbacks have competed in eighteen College World Series and 32 NCAA tournaments.
