The Chicago Sky is a professional basketball club from the U.S. that calls Chicago home. Representing the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), the Sky play home games on the court. Before the 2006 season, the franchise was created. 

From 2013 to 2016, the Sky had a successful run, reaching the WNBA Finals in 2014 and making four more playoff appearances. Their second winning streak lasted from 2019 until 2022, and they finally broke through in the WNBA Finals of 2021 to claim their first title.

After a 3-1 victory against the Phoenix Mercury in the 2021 WNBA Finals, the Sky earned their maiden WNBA championship on October 17, 2021. The most Valuable Player of the Finals was Kahleah Copper. On October 19, 2021, there was a rally and procession in honor of the squad. 

With the introduction of the new playoff structure, Sky made history by being the first team without a winning record to win the title and the lowest-seeded club. Margaret Stender is a minority owner, while Michael J. Alter is the major owner of the squad. Although it shares a market with the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Sky is not associated with the NBA, unlike many other WNBA clubs.
