History, combat songs, and the traditional Seminole colors have all become cultural icons. Currently, Mike Norvell is the team's coach. Doak Campbell Stadium, often known as Bobby Bowden Field, is the home field for the Seminoles. The Seminoles have won six national titles (1987, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1999, and 2013).

The Seminoles have won 18 conference titles in a row. Under Bobby Bowden's direction, the squad won 12 of its 18 titles. He was widely regarded as one of Florida State's finest head coaches.
