A tennis tournament, the Miami Open (formerly the Miami Masters and currently presented by Ita), is held annually at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. It's a stop on the WTA 1000 circuit for women and the ATP Tour Masters 1000 for men. As a rule, April is reserved for the Miami Open. 

After 32 years at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, Florida, the tournament moved to Miami Gardens in 2019. The event has had numerous sponsorships in its existence. During its debut in 1985, the tournament was called the Lipton International Players Championships, and it was a top event on the Grand Prix Tennis Tour. 

2000, it was called the Ericsson Open, and in 2002, the NASDAQ-100 Open was introduced. The Sony Ericsson Open was originally held in 2002 but changed its name in 2007. The global bank Ita has been the event's presenting sponsor since 2015.
