Based in Pueblo, Colorado (USA), the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is a worldwide association of professional bull riders. Hundreds of events are sanctioned annually across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Australia, making it the largest bull riding league in the world. There are more than 500 bull riders who call the PBR their home. In mid-April 1992, 20 professional bull riders and a businessman got together in a hotel room in Scottsdale, Arizona, and formed the organization.

Donations from the 2022 edition, held at King Ranch in Kingsville, Texas, on Labor Day Weekend, went to various conservation and sustainability projects throughout the state. The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association received a portion of the funds to be dispersed to municipal and rural fire departments that assisted landowners during the state's devastating wildfires earlier this year.

Sunday events on the PBR's lower-tier circuit were held at Fort Worth, Texas, Cowtown Coliseum from June through August 2022. Since 2023, this venue has hosted these annual events nearly every Thursday. In April 1993, the first PBR event took place at Cowtown Coliseum.
