William Frederick Burr (June 10, 1968) is an American podcaster, filmmaker, actor, and stand-up comedian born in Canton, Massachusetts. In 1987, he completed his high school education. In 1993, he graduated with a bachelor's in radio from Boston's Emerson College, where David Foster Wallace was a lecturer. Before his stand-up comedy career, he worked in warehouses, which he said he enjoyed doing because of its independence.

Madison Square Garden on November 14, 2015, the Royal Albert Hall on June 6, 2018, and two nights in a row on March 4 and 5, 2019, were all sold out for Burr's performances. Almost double Aziz Ansari's record of 10, he performed 19 consecutive sold-out gigs at the Wilbur Theatre and set a new record. On September 28, 2018, Burr performed before a sold-out crowd of 20,000 at the Los Angeles Forum. As of September 16, 2021, he had sold out Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

In front of a sold-out crowd of almost 35,000 people, he gave the first comedy performance ever at Fenway Park on August 21, 2022. It was also the largest comedy show in Boston's history. In 2023, he appeared as the narrator in the episode "The Wizard" of the HBO series Barry, starring Bill Hader.
