Charlie Berens (April 27, 1987) is an American comedian and journalist born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. One of twelve children, Berens was born into a devout Catholic family. Elm Grove and New Berlin, Wisconsin, were home to him as a child. After finishing high school at Marquette University, he enrolled in the University of Wisconsin – Madison to study broadcast journalism. Berens got his start in the industry on the MTV News program Choose or Lose. The Cripescast is a podcast that Berens started in June 2020 in which he talks to creative types from the Midwest about their work and how they're connected to the region.
