Jim Gaffigan (July 7, 1966) is an American producer, writer, stand-up comedian, and actor born in Elgin, Illinois. Gaffigan used to watch SNL when he was a kid. In high school, he was a star football player for La Lumiere School, based out of La Porte, Indiana. He spent one year as a Phi Gamma Delta fraternity member at Purdue University before moving to Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, from which he earned a degree in finance in 1988.

In Michael Almereyda's upcoming 2020 film Tesla, actor Jim Gaffigan plays George Westinghouse. Gaffigan was tapped in 2020 to reprise his role as Thunderbolt for Stargirl's upcoming second season. Seth Green replaced the original cast member in the third season. In January 2021, he began playing Mr. Smee in Disney's Peter Pan & Wendy. Gaffigan provided the voice of Lorenzo Paguro in the 2021 Pixar feature Luca.

Gaffigan was honored as the best concert comedian at the 2014 American Comedy Awards on April 26. The comedy series Pale Force received a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Broadband Program in 2007. Gaffigan acted as both the show's executive producer and its star. For his work as a pundit on CBS Sunday Morning, he was awarded the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Morning Program in 2016.
