Bon Jovi is an American rock band. The band was formed in the year 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey. The group consists of singer Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan (Keyboardist), Phil X (guitarist), Tico Torres (drummer), and Hugh McDonald (bassist). Jon Bon Jovi started performing live music in 1975 when he was just 13. He played guitar and piano with his debut band “Raze.”

When Jon was 16, he met David Bryan with whom he planned to initiate a band that was called Atlantic City Expressway. In the middle of their journey, David Bryan quit the group, that he and Bon Jovi had made together, because of him studying medicine. But soon after joining the medicine college, Bryan realized that he wanted to persuade music full-time as his career; hence, after getting recalled by Bon Jovi to join his new band, Bryan gave up on his studies ultimately and joined Bon Jovi once again.

After the creation of their new band, the band soon caught the attention of Derek Shulman, who was a record executive back then. Shulman signed them to Mercury Records. The band recorded their debut album “Bon Jovi” on January 21, 1984. Their first-ever hit single came out of this album entitled “Runaway.” It reached the top 40 in Billboard Hot 100. The album itself peaked at number 43 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Bon Jovi released its second album “7800 Fahrenheit” in 1985. They released three singles, including “In and Out of Love,” “Only Lonely,” and a ballad called “Silent Night.” This album reached number 37 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also got the Gold certification by the RIAA as well.
