BTS is known by various names such as the Bangtan Boys, Bangtan Sonyeondan, Beyond the Scene, and Bulletproof Boy Scouts. It is a South Korean boy band that is comprised of seven members. The group was formed in Seoul in the year 2010. BTS is originally a hip-hop group that deals in R&B, EDM, and K-pop music genres. The members included in the group are Jin, Suga, RM, V, Jungkook, Jimin, and J-Hope. The original theme lyrics composed by the BTS are mainly focused on social and personal commentary along with loss, mental health, self-love, troubles of school-age youth, and individualism.

Officially, BTS was formed as a group of teenagers under Big Hit Entertainment. The debut single album released by the band was entitled 2 Cool 4 Skool (2013). Wings were the first album by BTS that sold one million copies in South Korea. BTS has attained 25 Guinness World Records, including for the most Twitter engagements. In 2017, BTS became the first Korean group to earn a certification from the RIAA. It was offered for their single “Mic Drop.” They’ve also scored hits with big artists like Halsey, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, and Fall Out Boy. BTS has won many prestigious awards like the Seoul Music Awards (2022) award, and the group won 10 awards at the 36th Japan Gol Disc Awards (2022).

They won all Daesangs at the 2020 Melon Music Awards and the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards. BTS is also the first Korean act to top the Billboard 200 via their studio album entitled Love Yourself: Tear (2018). Some of the other hit albums by the band are Map of the Soul: 7 (2020), Be essential (2021), and Butter (2021). Butter was the first English single album released by BTS and was certified Platinum for selling more than 250,000 copies by the RIAJ in July 2021.

The group has collaborated with other well-known artists such as Coldplay, Nicki Minaj, Steve Aoki, and Halsey.
