Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini is an American singer and rapper. She is professionally known by her stage name, Doja Cat. She was born in Los Angeles, California. Doja Cat claimed that her life was "messy" when she stopped attending school, alleging that she slept on the floor and spent "all night and day" online seeking beats and instrumentals from YouTube, which she then downloaded and used to create her own music.

At the 2022 XXL Awards, Doja Cat was honored as the Female Rapper and Performer of the Year. She was the most-nominated female artist at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards with eight nods. Doja Cat's Super Bowl LVI ad for Taco Bell, in which she starred, used a rendition of the song "Celebrity Skin" by the American rock band Hole, published in February 2022. Doja Cat and Hole lead singer Courtney Love rewrote the lyrics for the cover.

Doja Cat's fourth studio album, Hellmouth, was teased in early 2023. With the release of her debut single "Attention" in the middle of June 2023 came a music video directed by Tanu Muino. Doja Cat has stated that Nicki Minaj is her primary source of inspiration.
