Foo Fighters is an American rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee, and Josh Freese. After Nirvana disbanded in 1994, Grohl formed the band to release his solo material. He brought in Mendel and William Goldsmith (drums), both of Sunny Day Real Estate, and Smear, a former Nirvana's touring band member, before the release of Foo Fighters' self-titled debut album in 1995. The band debuted with shows in the Portland, Oregon area.

The Foo Fighters are one of Grammy's most successful rock acts. They have received 15 Grammys to date. At the MTV Video Music Awards 2021, the group was presented with the inaugural "Global Icon" award. In 2021, their first year of eligibility, they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Studio 666, a comedy horror film that stars the Foo Fighters, was released on February 25, 2022. It also features Will Forte, Whitney Cummings, Jeff Garlin, Jenna Ortega, and the band members playing themselves. While recording in a creepy mansion, Grohl (played by an evil entity) murders the band members.

The Foo Fighters started announcing their 2023 festival appearances in January. They made Freese's hiring official on May 21 with a funny film that featured many famous drummers. On June 2, the Foo Fighters released But Here We Are, their eleventh studio album. The song "Rescued" serves as the album's lead single.
