Kenneth Bruce Gorelick (June 5, 1956) is an American smooth jazz composer, saxophonist, golfer, and producer. He is professionally known by his stage name, Kenny G. A Jewish family welcomed Kenny G into the world in Seattle, Washington. He first heard the saxophone when he watched The Ed Sullivan Show performance. At 10 in 1966, he first picked up a Buffet Crampon alto saxophone. His first effort to join the jazz band in high school failed. But the following year, he tried again and was given the first chair.

Robert Damper (piano, keyboards), a classmate from Franklin High School, performs in his band now. He received private clarinet and saxophone lessons from Johnny Jessen once a week for a year in addition to his high school coursework. At 17 and still in high school, he got his start in the music industry by working as a sideman for Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra.

The Weeknd and Kenny G collaborated on a remix of the hit song In Your Eyes, released in October 2020. The songs "My Heart Will Go On" and "Gary's Song," which were created for the SpongeBob SquarePants famous episode "Have You Seen This Snail?" were covered by Kenny G for the soundtrack of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run in 2021. The Nickelodeon show's Kelpy G character mocks the artist.

He appeared on the 2022 song "Merkurius Gilded" by the avant-garde metal band Imperial Triumphant, playing guitar alongside his son Max Gorelick.
