Steven Patrick Morrissey (May 22, 1959) is an English singer and songwriter born in Davyhulme, Lancashire. Back in 1982, Steven Patrick Morrissey teamed up with guitarist Johnny Marr to form The Smiths in Manchester. Their music was something entirely different - jangly guitars paired with Morrissey's melancholy yet beautiful words about life and love. When their debut album was released in 1984, it changed everything for British indie music.

The Smiths broke up in 1987, but that wasn't the end for Morrissey. He went solo and released "Viva Hate" the following year, demonstrating that he didn't need the band to create great music. His live shows became legendary - he'd throw himself around on stage while singing about politics, relationships, and whatever was bothering him that day. Fans loved his honesty and wit.

This year has been busy for Morrissey, with his European tour starting in Madrid back in June. He's already played shows in Amsterdam and Copenhagen this month, with crowds singing along to every word. The tour continues through July with stops in Stockholm, Kraków, Vienna, and several other European cities.
