Neil Percival Young OC OM (November 12, 1945) is a singer and composer from Canada and the US. He started performing music in Winnipeg in the '60s and then relocated to Los Angeles to join the folk-rock band Buffalo Springfield. Along with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, he recorded the top-charting album Déjà Vu in 1970 while a part-time band member.

One of their biggest songs was "For What It's Worth," which became a protest anthem. After that, he joined Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and helped create powerful songs that blended folk, rock, and country. Around the same time, he also started his solo career. In 1972, he released Harvest, one of his most successful albums, featuring hits such as "Heart of Gold" and "Old Man."

Throughout the years, Young has stayed active and creative. He has released dozens of albums, including Rust Never Sleeps, After the Gold Rush, and Tonight’s the Night. Some of his songs are soft and acoustic, while others are loud and full of electric guitar. He often sings about love, nature, war, and freedom. He’s also known for being part of the band Crazy Horse, which helped shape his louder, grungier sound. Many younger artists, like Pearl Jam and Nirvana, were inspired by him. Even with ups and downs in the music industry, he has stayed true to his style.

In 2025, Young is back on tour with Crazy Horse for their Love Earth Tour. The shows feature songs from their latest album, FU##IN’ UP, along with classic tracks that fans have loved for years.
