The team inductees into the Hall of Famers include 13 former players and six builders of the sport. Former general managers, head coaches, and owners were the six builder inductees. The first player of Flyer to be inducted in Hall of Fame was Bernie Parent in 1984. The Hockey Hall of Fame has also recognized members of Philadelphia Sports media.

The Philadelphia Flyers were knocked out of the playoff hunt by the Washington Capitals in a 2-1 loss on April 16, 2024. In June 2024, General Manager Daniel Brière claimed that the Philadelphia Flyers would acquire forward Cam Atkinson's remaining contract. As for other news, they re-signed defenseman Egor Zamula for two more years at an AAV of $1.7 million.

To assess young talent and lay for the future, the Philadelphia Flyers' 2024 preseason has been all development. Prospects like Tyson Foerster and Bobby Brink have strongly argued for regular-season berths. The Flyers have worked under head coach John Tortorella to enhance their special teams and defensive system.

Though the outcomes have been conflicting, long-term development takes the front stage instead of instantaneous success. The Flyers are rebuilding; hence, the preseason offers a great chance to evaluate the development of their younger players.
