About Alan Parsons Live Project

Alan Parsons OBE (December 20, 1948) is an English audio engineer, composer, musician, and record producer. The albums Abbey Road (1969) and Let It Be (1970) by the Beatles, The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) by Pink Floyd, and 1975's eponymous debut album by Ambrosia were all sound-engineered by Parsons. Additionally, Parsons's solo albums and those with his group, the Alan Parsons Project, have done well in the marketplace. Eye in the Sky (35th Anniversary Edition), his debut album, won Best Immersive Audio Album at the 2019 Grammys, one of thirteen nominations he has received. A live album titled LiveSpan was published in late 2013, capturing performances across Germany and Austria. The album was supported by a song, "Fragile," featuring Simon Philips on drums. On November 17, 2017, Sony Music Entertainment's catalog subsidiary, Legacy Recordings, published a definitive deluxe collector's box set comprising rare and unreleased content to mark the 35th anniversary of Eye in the Sky. Engineer Noah Bruskin inaugurated Parsons' new recording studio, ParSonics, on July 19, 2018.  The Secret, Alan Parsons' album, was recorded using ParSonics. After a fifteen-year hiatus, Parsons returned to the studio on April 26, 2019, with the release of The Secret. The new Parsons studio album From the New World was released on July 15, 2022.

Essential Event-Day Checklist

Before You Leave

  • Digital Tickets: Download tickets to your phone's wallet now. Venue Wi-Fi is notoriously unreliable.
  • ID Check: Bring a valid photo ID; many venues require it for entry or "Will Call" pickup.
  • Bag Policy: Most venues enforce clear bag policies or limits (typically A4 size or smaller). Check the specific venue site to avoid being turned away.
  • Cash & Cards: While many venues are now cashless, bring some cash as a backup.

Pro-Tips

  • Power Up: Bring a portable power bank. Using your phone for video and ride-sharing will drain your battery fast.
  • Hearing Safety: Use high-fidelity earplugs to enjoy the event while protecting your hearing.
  • Hydration & Energy: Eat a full meal and stay hydrated beforehand.

Dress for Success

  • Footwear: Wear broken-in sneakers or boots. You could be standing for 3–5 hours; avoid new shoes.
  • Layer Up: Wear light layers (flannel or light jacket). Venues can range from chilly to very hot.
  • Style: Be yourself, but it always helps to have pockets or a small crossbody bag to keep essentials secure and hands-free.

Logistics & Safety

  • Arrive Early: Get there 60 minutes before doors to beat the merch and security lines.
  • Transport: Pre-book your ride share or scout parking garages in advance to avoid post-show surges.
  • Stay Safe: Identify your nearest exit upon arrival and designate a meeting spot for your group.
