The Milwaukee Bucks, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is an American basketball team. They are a member of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Central Division. The franchise was launched in 1968. The team plays its home games at Fiserv Forum. R.D. Trebilcox of Whitefish Bay suggested the team name “Bucks” on May 22, 1968.

Bucks played their first NBA regular-season game in October 1968 against the Chicago Bulls in front of 8,467. They achieved their first victory in their sixth game when they beat the Detroit Pistons by a score of 134–118.

They have featured such notable players as Brian Winters, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Marques Johnson, Sidney Moncrief, Jon McGlocklin, Oscar Robertson, Vin Baker, Bob Dandridge, Terry Cummings, Bob Lanier, Michael Redd, Junior Bridgeman, Sam Cassell, and Ray Allen. The Milwaukee Bucks’ uniform color theme is based on five different colors, including Cream City cream, Good Land green, Great Lakes blue, white and black. Since October 18, 1977, Bango has been the official mascot of the Bucks. The team has won 14 Division titles (1971–1974, 1976, 1980-1986, 2001, 2019), two conference titles (1971 and 1974), and one League title (1971). Giannis Antetokounmpo and Abdul-Jabbar have been awarded the NBA's Most Valuable Player.

The Bucks were one of three teams that traded for Damian Lillard on September 27, 2023. Lillard is a point guard and seven-time all-star. After just 43 games, the Bucks dismissed Adrian Griffin as head coach on January 23, 2024. Doc Rivers was officially announced as the next head coach of the Bucks on January 26, 2024. In the 2023–24 season, they have been outstanding with a 49-33 record in the regular season.

After being knocked out of the playoffs by the Indiana Pacers in the first round last season, they will be looking to recover from last year's dysfunctional and dismal finish.

The Milwaukee Bucks acquired Tyler Smith from Portland via the Sacramento Kings, so they entered the draft with a late first-round pick and an early second-round pick. Smith played for the G League Ignite. Johnson, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who most recently played for the NBL's Illawarra Hawks in Australia, was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 23rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The Milwaukee Bucks finished the 2024-25 season at 48-34, placing 3rd in the Central Division and 5th in the Eastern Conference. They were swept 4-1 by the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference First Round. Giannis Antetokounmpo missed playoff time due to a calf injury, while Damian Lillard averaged 31.3 points in the series. No major trades occurred, but Khris Middleton faced trade rumors. Rookie AJ Green showed promise, shooting 40% from three. Coach Doc Rivers aims to regroup for a stronger 2025-26 campaign.
