The Minnesota Timberwolves are a professional basketball team from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Timberwolves are an NBA team from the Western Conference Northwest Division. The franchise has been around since 1989, and its owner, Glen Taylor, also owns the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association. Since 1990, the Timberwolves' home arena has been the Target Center.

After seven consecutive first-round exits, the Timberwolves finally broke through in 2004 by winning their division and advancing to the Western Conference Finals. For that season in the NBA, Garnett was also awarded MVP.

On May 23, 2022, the Timberwolves announced that they had hired Tim Connelly, formerly the head of basketball operations for the Denver Nuggets, to replace Gupta. The Timberwolves allegedly signed him to a 5-year, $40 million contract, which also grants him interest in the team.

The 2024 draft's most significant trade was the Minnesota Timberwolves' acquisition of the No.8 overall draft pick from the San Antonio Spurs. That pick went to Rob Dillingham, a guard from Kentucky. The 2024 NBA Draft was a big deal for the Timberwolves because they had the 27th and 37th overall picks. Terrence Shannon Jr. was chosen by the team with the 27th overall pick. With his explosive wing scoring, the team gains a player who can generate offense on his own and might contribute as a bench player.

The Minnesota Timberwolves' season has been up and down, but Anthony Edwards has become a leader.  Karl-Anthony Towns has been hurt, which has limited his effect, but Rudy Gobert has continued to play great defense while he's been out.  The Timberwolves signed Jaylen Clark to a two-way deal in the middle of the season to give their team more depth.  At the moment, Minnesota is fighting in the Western Conference to make the playoffs.  The Timberwolves could make a run for the playoffs if Towns gets better and Edwards keeps up his outstanding play.
