The Presidents' Trophy and the Metropolitan Division were won by the Rangers in their last regular season game in April, a 4-0 victory against the Ottawa Senators. With 55 victories and 114 points, they also established new franchise records for a single season. 

Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final took place at Amerant Bank Arena in June, and the New York Rangers were knocked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Florida Panthers with a score of 2-1.

The New York Rangers have evaluated the roster's depth and included fresh coach Peter Laviolette's systems into their camp. Stars like Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad have looked crisp; Adam Fox's centered defense has been strong. Goaltender Igor Shesterkin has been in excellent form, which helps to explain why he continues to be among the league's best.
